I was greeted by the hectic crowd at the SRC on an early morning today (9am!). Different colorful jerseys and mascots welcomed their halls supporters. YES! It marked the start of NTU Inter-Hall Games BADMINTON! Excitement gathered from writing the line-up forms, collecting matriculation cards, greeting shuttlers from the other halls and warming up to get ready for the battle.
Anticipation of the victories
Our hall kicked off the Inter-Hall Games Badminton 2007 with an astounding victory against Hall 10. Our males singles, Tay Paul Tiong, raised the hopes of our Hall 4 Badminton team with an easy victory against his opponent. Our females singles, Tan Li Si, gained a victory almost effortlessly.

Following next was our men’s doubles, Damien Chan and Teo Zhi Ye which they gained another victory despite first time pairing as partners. They won the 1st set with some difficulties, but managed to thrash their opponents in the 2nd set.
With our first 3 points secured, we have already won Hall 10! The rest of the matches could be played without much panicking. Hence, the sick Shaline Tan (ME) and Vicki could play without worries in the females doubles match. We met Hall 10’s strongest players, in exact words, the IVP players. Our 1
st set was narrowly lost with the score of 19-21. 2
nd set was tougher due to the miscommunications between the partners (1
st time pairing too) and fatigue. Finally, we gave in to Hall 10 for our females doubles match.
Not wanting to lose the last match, our Final Year Students, Lee Shu Ying and Alex Lim (also the team captain), managed to gain an easy victory over Hall 10. Both seniors have done well in ending our battle against Hall 10.
our veterans
With the total score of 4-1, we managed to enter the WP where we will meet Hall 13 on the 28
thDec 2007. With that, I hope Hall 4 IHG BADMINTON TEAM leads a smooth sailing path to the FINALS!
Hall 4's path to the coming victories!
